Casey Anthony, who did not have the Courage to dial 911 when her baby went missing, and instead went out Disco Dancing, is the Profile in Cowardice for 2011.  Receiving the "Dis-Honorable Mention" for placing second is Joshua Komisarjevsky, whose brutal rape and murder of an American family invoked memories of the "In Cold Blood" killings that shocked the world in 1959. Accused killer Crystal Mangum	ALSO NOMINATED! Crystal Mangum falsely accused 3 Duke University men of rape, which led to the disbarrment of D. A. Dr. Conrad Murray	COWARDLY DOCTORS! Dr. Conrad Murray has been convicted for his role in the death of Pop Icon Michael Jackson, and was sentenced to 4 years in prison.  Dr. Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia is under Indictment for the alleged murders of 7 newborn babies and one 41 year old woman. Baseball's Barry Bonds	COWARDLY ATHLETES! Barry Bonds, a Cowardice runner-up in 2007, was convicted in the BALCO steroids scandal involving professional athletes.  Retired Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky was nominated, along with all of his fellow coaches involved in the alleged pedophile scandal and cover-up. Muammar Gaddafi	TERRORIST COWARDS Human sewage Muammar Gaddafi was found hiding in a sewage drain as his reign of terror ended. 35 Syracuse College students were among those murdered by Gaddafi on Pan Am Flight 103.  U. Anthony Weiner	COWARD POLITICIANS Congressman Anthony Weiner did not have the courage to "Come Clean" when his "Sexting"  scandal broke and had to resign.  Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was convicted on Federal charges relating to his attempt to sell his appointment to a vacant U. The Probing Hands of the TSA Troubled actor Charlie Sheen	GOVERNMENT COWARDS Whitey Bulger, whose gang of pedophiles produced child pornogaphy, trafficked drugs, murdered kids, and threatened journalists, was protected from prosecution for decades by his employer, the FBI.  Also nominated were various employees of the Transportation Security Administration, who didn't have the Courage to use their common sense when screening passengers at airports. COWARDS IN HOLLYWOOD! Charlie Sheen could not find the Courage to confront his drug abuse and thus became the "Poster Boy" for the dangers of such among those in Hollywood who have achieved success.  Cameron Douglas, son of Michael Douglas and Grandson of Kirk Douglas, also could not muster the Courage to confront his drug abuse, and became the "Poster Boy" of how drugs can destroy any opportunity for success. Also nominated for the Profile in Cowardice Award was "The Unknown Coward,” that person who possessed information about a crime, scandal, or cover-up, and chose to remain silent. They know who they are, and, God Willing, someday so may we!	The "Unknown Coward"	John Edwards, pictured above, is the recipient of the Chappaquiddick Society's "Lifetime Achievement Award" for 2011. The Award Dis-Honors those lawyers who bring further disgrace onto an already ethically-challenged profession.

Andrew Cunanan, 1997 Profile in Cowardice Nominee	Andrew Cunanan went on a murder spree in 1997, killing Gianni Versace before taking his own life.  At left is Kennedy family relative Michael Skakel, the 2002 Profile in Cowardice.  Skakel was finally brought to trial after books by Dominick Dunne and former LAPD Detective Mark Fuhrman brought public pressure in Connecticutt to solve the case. Islamic terrorist John Muhammad, 2002 Profile in Cowardice Nominee	The terrorist attacks of 9/11 inspired convert to Islam John Mohammad and his adopted son/gay lover Malik Malvo to go on a murderous rampage, shooting in the back 10 innocent Americans.  Malvo's prior detention and release as an illegal alien was another example of the ease by which terrorists pass into the USA.  At right is Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, charged in 2002 for the murder of an NYPD cop, about whom he conveniently forgot to disclose to the Feds when he aggreed to 'rat' on Gambino Godfather John Gotti.	2002 Profile in Cowardice Nominee Sammy "The Bull" Gravano

Scott Peterson, 2003 Profile in Cowardice	Scott Peterson and Mark Hacking, who, within a year of each other, murdered their pregnant wife as she lay sleeping.  Peterson's criminal lawyer, Mark Geragos, who received the Chappaquiddick Society's 'Lifetime Achievement Award' in 2004, floated a 'trial balloon' with the Media in which he claimed Peterson's wife was murdered by a Satanic cult.  That theory didn't fly and Peterson is now on Death Row in California.	. Lillo Brancato, Jr., 2008 Profile in Cowardice	Lillo Brancato's heroin binge burglary led to the shooting death of a New York City Police Officer.  Robert Chambers, the "Preppie Murderer," killed date Jennifer Levin in what he called 'consensual, rough sex,' in Manhattan's Central Park.  Both men are currently incarcerated. 1996 Profile in Cowardice O. J. Simpson	O. J. Simpson may have beaten his murder rap, but a Civil suit jury later found him financially responsible for the murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, and a jury in Las Vegas convicted Simpson on charges incluing kidnapping.  Some investigators believe an intruder murdered JonBenet Ramsey on Christmas, 1996 and that that person is likely to be found in the world of pre-teen beauty pageants - a scene John & Patsy Ramsey voluntarily subjected their little girl to. David Cash, 1998 Profile in Cowardice	David Cash did nothing as his friend Jeremy Strohmeyer raped and murdered 7-year-old Sherrice Iverson inside a Nevada Casino restroom.  FBI Director Louis Freeh was Nominated in 1996 for not having the courage to issue a public apology to Richard Jewell, who lived under a cloud of suspicion once identified by the FBI as the Atlanta Olympics bomber.  Jewell became a wealthy man by suing Media outlets that falsely accused him based upon the FBI information.  The Jewell case was just one of several investigations botched by the FBI during the tenure of Director Freeh.	1996 Profile in Cowardice Nominee Louis Freeh

In 1998 the New York Post reported the introduction of 'Monica Lewinsky Presidential Kneepads,'offered for $69.69 by the Chappaquiddick Society;  ("Ask NOT what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for your country while wearing these Kneepads!"); AND 'Monica Lewinsky Presidential Cigars,! ("What this country needs - a good 69 cent cigar!")  At right is Jeff Gannon, a White House press corps favorite who didn't quite have the courage to admit he led a double life as a male escort.

2003 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Congressman James Traficant	The Chappaquiddick Society has scrutinized 3 members of Congress from the State of Ohio:  James Traficant, (left, as he appeared on his Congressional website), Steven la Tourette, who was among the most vocal critics of President Clinton during the 'MonicaGate' scandal and yet was later caught up in his own patronage and adultry scandal, and Jean Schmidt, (right), who created an uproar on the floor of the House by branding as a "Coward" Congressman John Murtha, a decorated Marine Corps veteran of the VietNam war. 1997,1998,1999 Profile in Cowardice Award Nominee Janet Reno	At left is former Attorney General Janet Reno, nominated 3 consecutive times for her failure to appoint a Special Prosecutor regarding the 'funny money' scandal involving the Democratic Party and the government of Communist China.   At right is baseball slugger Rafael Palmieri, who pointed a finger at members of Congress, angrily denying ever having abused anabolic steroids.  Just months later, Palmieri was detected having used steroids and disciplined by the National Baseball League. Andrew Douglas Burnett	At left is Andrew Douglas Burnett, convicted and sent to prison for his murder of "Leo the Dog". According to witnesses, Burnett grabbed Leo from his owner's car after a minor fender bender in 2000 and flung Leo across the divide, where the helpless poodle was struck and killed by oncoming traffic.  At the time Burnett was Nominated for the Chappaquiddick Society's Profile in Cowardice Award, a member of the Society stated: "Dogs are people too!" . 'There's a finger in my chili' con artist Anna Ayala	. . At left is Anna Ayala from her arrest mugshot, nominated after she subjected employees of a Wendy's Restaurant to intense scurtiny and polygraphs after Ayala claimed she found a human finger in her chili.  Ayala was later convicted for this scam.   Reluctant Georgia bride Jennifer Wilbanks was nominated after creating a nationwide sensation by staging her own fake kidnapping.	.
